            2/ I said this was still too high and I was happy to switch to another provider that is offering the same package for £30. They transferred me to what was likely the cancellation/retention and I was imminently offered a deal for £34 a month

          3/ I had some outage issues a few weeks ago and used that to my advantage and mentioned that along with the hassle that outage caused me and that this isn't something I would expect as a long term customer from them

        4/ Once again they repeated this that £34 was the best price they could do. Again I mentioned the same deal was cheaper with a competitor. They asked me who it was and said it might be cheaper but their internet speed might be slower. However...I did my research!

      5/ The competitor runs on Openreach - Using the Openreach website I found that this wasn't true at all and that my area could get 1Gbps if I wanted that. When presented with that fact the agent on the phone got nervous about being called out. Me:

    6/ After listening to everything I said, they managed to offer me £28.50 a month! That's less than what I was paying before 🎉 The call was less than 20 minutes and compared to my last deal (£35/pm), I'm saving an extra £117 over the next 18 months

      7/ There's usually a lot of great resources online on how you can haggle your bill down. @MoneySavingExp has a great article that I tend to refer back to.
